Reiki is a gentle Japanese healing practice in which the practitioner channels life-force energy through the hands. Traditional Usui Reiki is taught in three stages, each building on the one before.
Reiki Level 1 – healing yourself
Level 1 opens your connection to Reiki energy through an attunement. You learn the history and principles of Reiki, the hand positions for self-healing, and how to give a basic treatment to friends and family. Daily self-practice after this course is the best preparation for the next level.
Reiki Level 2 – healing others
Level 2 introduces the Reiki symbols, which focus and strengthen the energy, and teaches distance healing. Many practitioners begin offering treatments professionally after this stage.
Reiki Master – teaching Reiki
The Master level deepens your own practice with the master symbol and teaches you how to attune and train new students, so you can pass Reiki on.
Reiki is not something you add to your life — it is a way of returning to the calm that is already there.
